About Us
MIR was founded in 1991. During the 1990s we focused on market research in the civil aerospace industry, developing a global blue chip aerospace client base. In the 2000s we moved into electric vehicles and renewable energy, publishing landmark studies “Peak Oil: The EV Imperative” in 2005 and “The Trouble with Lithium” in 2008.
“The Trouble with Lithium” was the first study ever published to raise awareness of future lithium supply for the EV transition, just as the GM Volt was being launched onto the market.
You can download some of our other publications from the Downloads page.
In 2014 we published an important technical whitepaper on the potential for revolutionising aerospace propulsion with a closed cycle supercritical CO2 turbofan.
In 2018, 2023 and 2024 we have given presentations at the Electric & Hybrid Aerospace Technology Symposium in Germany.
- 2018 A Supercritical CO2 closed cycle hybrid propulsion system.
- 2023 Application of the Coanda Effect to eVTOL Propulsion.
- 2024 Electro-aerodynamic Propulsion for eVTOL Applications.
The Lithium Report is the first in a new series of reports we will be releasing on the Energy Transition.
